Comment Guidelines

Many of the issues we hope to address here can be considered controversial, and are often topics about which people feel passionate and emotional, making it easy for the focus of the discussions to shift off of the topic and onto the people discussing it. In the interest of fostering conversations from which we can all grow and learn we have instituted the following guidelines for both bloggers and commentors:

-We must understand that to receive respect we must give respect, to that end, we ask that people’s responses address the ideas expressed rather than the people expressing them. In accordance with this we ask that people refrain from acts such as name-calling, personal insults, defamatory comments, the use of profanity, or anything that would offend most reasonable people.

-We also ask that in the spirit of the mission statement of the PPJPC that people refrain from using derogatory slang particularly in relation to race, religion, gender, or sexual preference, as well as any other forms of bigotry.

- We ask that comments be pertinent to the subject matter of the post.

-When quoting any other blog or publication, be sure to link to the original, where possible, and use quotation marks or blockquotes for longer texts.

-When using a photograph found elsewhere on the web, please credit where you got it from via hyperlink.

-If statements are posted which violate these guidelines they will be removed from the site. The staff of the PPJPC will be the only ones with the power to
