The following friends of the J&P are local groups of importance with their own focus on peace, social justice and sustainability. Some are projects of the J&P and others maintain a separate identity.
Citizens for Peace in Space Since 1983, local peace activists have sought to understand, question and oppsoe the U.S. military takeover of space. Citizens for Peace in Space, the local affiliate of the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power, seeks to education the public on issues of space warfare and resists local displays of militarization (i.e. the annual Space Symposium) with demonstrations and direct action. The group meets at the J&P office the first Saturday of the month. For more information, contact Bill Sulzman at (719) 389-0644 or bsulzman@juno.com.
